I’m here today simply to reiterate my love of MAIZ Mexican Cantina, located in Ypsi’s Depot Town.
Our most recent visit cemented our love for MAIZ’s a-MAIZ-ing food. Definitely my favorite Mexican food in the area.
I had a hand-shaken strawberry lemonade and shared order of Queso Fundido (half-off during happy hour!) to start, featuring a sizzling platter of refried beans, house-made chorizo, and muenster cheese, topped with fresh pico de gallo, with a side of corn tortillas. Deliciously indulgent.
My dining companion ordered the Classic Grande Quesadilla with carnitas pork and gave it absolutely RAVE reviews! I think I might have to order this next time. It was huge!
I ordered the Taco Meal Combo with:
- Pescado (fish) taco
- Fried Avocado taco
- Pork Carnitas taco
They were ALL excellent and supremely fresh and flavorful, but I especially loved the fried fish taco. It was one of those foods that made me go wide-eyed after the first bite because of its massive deliciousness. That good. Solid beans and rice on the side as well.
MAIZ is definitely one of my favorite places to eat around here. That is all.
